When I decided that I wanted to start a blog geared towards Disney and Star Wars, I contemplated on what I wanted to write exactly. I wanted to have a place where I can geek out about my obsessions, but sometimes trying to figure out a direction to go can be tough. I want this to be a fun place, but at the same time I want it to be real. I don’t want to turn into something I’m not and feel like I have to keep up with others expectations when really, started this place for ME. I just happen to be roping my friends and loved ones into it. So I figured that maybe I should forewarn what you are going to expect in a place like this.
You will see a lot of fun things and silly things in here because I am a major dork and try to do the best I can to focus on the positive in life. But I also understand and realize “life”. You will see me get very real on here. I am a major nerd when it comes to mental health as I have had to face a lot of struggles in life as well as watching others. I have also seen others be bullied because they have a huge love for Disney and Star Wars and others have a hard time comprehending that love. Everyone has their reasons, stories and memories that are tied to these and I want this to be a place where people can feel safe over something they adore. You will see a lot of mental health tied into what I am doing and I hope in some way that this will connect with someone out there who may feel like they don’t have anyone that understands or just simply feel alone. Or if you just like to geek out as well. 😉
On a lighter note, I have a friend who is a designer that made something pretty awesome for this site and we will be doing a giveaway for it as well. Our local Comic Con is coming up in September and he will be selling some exclusive prints and shirts just for that time. I was going to wait until August to talk about it since it also has to do with the theme, but I am just too excited and it’s hard to keep quiet over things I’m passionate about.
Just remember, no matter what anyone else says, don’t feel like you need to change yourself to meet their standards. For every one person that says something negative to you about what you love and do, you have 10 more people cheering you on.
