Look! New stuff!

So……’s definitely been a little crazy lately with a lot of painting, designing and planning with opening my online shop, preparing for a local fair, Comic Con, helping to start a major business, and the documentary.

I’m trying to get everything set up to open my shop later this month with the focus towards Sci-Fi and Galaxy themed products. I will still be doing paper art, but I have plans to be embracing all kinds of mediums and push myself to different limits.

I have always had a deep love for astronomy and I find myself relaxed the most when I am painting nebulas, stars, moons, and anything else that inspires me. I will still add geek flair and even have ideas brewing for the ones who love Cosplay or Disneybounding. (Seriously it’s going to be so cool!)

On this blog I will still share my obsessions over Disney, Star Wars, my Comic Con family and anything else that I will nerd out over, but wanted to introduce the other world I’m working on.

The name of my shop is “Big Dipper Little Dipper”. There are so many reasons why I chose that name and has a pretty deep meaning for me. I don’t want to turn this into a novel which it may seem like already, but one of my favorite meanings are thanks to my little guy.

He’s 3 and has a thing with bears. He is always calling me momma bear and he’s my baby bear. But he is also always blaming bears when he does something he’s not supposed to.

Me: Uh oh, what did you do?

Miles: The bears did it.

Me: You are telling me that bears snuck in here and messed this up?

Miles: Yup. Do you hate bears? But not baby bears because they are so cute?

This is a common for us to discuss.

So as a momma bear protective of her baby bear, this inspired me to create something so close to my heart. (Again, there is more, but I blabbed on enough!)

Anyway, here are some necklaces that I have been working on lately. The small ones are the size of a dime and I finally have become comfortable enough where I don’t feel like I’m going to destroy the whole thing as I paint.

Also the cool thing about these? They totally glow in the dark.

Sorry that the quality isn’t the best. It was like 1 in the morning when I took these and I was pretty tired from working all day.

Stay tuned for updates and some other cool paintings I’m working on. I feel like I’m finally getting back to “me” with my art and it feels amazing.
I hope you all have a great weekend! It’s time for this girl to go on a date!
